Full course description
Course Description:
This 90-minute workshop is immediately followed by an optional 30-minute exercise and Q&A session.
This course explores the fundamentals of prompt engineering, the key technique for effectively interacting with generative AI models. Students will learn how to craft precise and structured prompts to achieve optimal AI-generated outputs. Topics include best practices for writing prompts, the 5-step prompt framework, multimodal prompting, and approaching AI as a coworker. Through hands-on exercises and real-world scenarios, participants will refine their skills in guiding AI for tasks such as content creation, analysis, and brainstorming. This course is ideal for anyone looking to enhance their AI-assisted workflows and unlock the full potential of generative AI.
To participate in the hands-on exercises and get the most out of this workshop, we recommend that prior to class you set up an account with at least one of the main generative AI assistants: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Copilot – a free account is fine. (Enrollees will receive instructions prior to the workshop.)
Prerequisities: NONE! No experience with using generative AI is required for this class!
